Spike different provisioning solutions

Problem: We have different provisioning solutions, Quickstarts, Instenv, whatever P3 uses and JPT’s custom. We need something that allows us to easily modify the dataset used and can be run from CI.

DoD: Document the process to provision and decision of which solution and why

please take a look at . There are two interesting mentions. The first about using KBs downloaded between first paint and RFU as a proxy measure. The second about aligning browser metrics and JPT. Please decide if this is something we could use and how.

DC Quicksilver didn’t actually managed to provision using instenv, what instead happened is

  • JPT was used to provision Jira in the JPT role (I have admin for this)

  • CPT was used to provision Confluence in CPT(?) role (I have admin for this)

  • Quickstarts were used to provision BBDC in BBS perf role (I don’t have admin for this I think)

This works for them because they’re actually doing a BI export, we need something closer to real data though for our perf testing so ideally we get Quickstarts working in our own role (for correct attribution of costs so we don’t inflate other teams)

I pinged (thanks BTW) who is our AWS champion, and now pinged in DC Deployments to see if this permissions problem can be solved

Going to try with instenv again for the third time now that DC Quicksilver has made progress:
