Not adding a summary to a ticket will continue to affect raising a new issue in JIRA, even once the requirement of a summary is met.
Steps to reproduce:
In IJ, open the Atlassian Connector tab and click on the New Issue
button. In the dialog that opens up, leave the summary blank, and click
Create. An error is produced, and if the "Show Details" button is
clicked, another dialog opens that includes the message "You must
specify a summary of the issue". All this is as expected, but...
Now cancel the Create JIRA Issue dialog and click the Create Issue
button again. Enter a summary, the click "Create" - the same error is
In fact now any JIRA operation in IJ will give the same error - even
just trying to open an issue.
To clear the error it is necessary to break and re-establish the
connection to the JIRA server, e.g. by going into the Atlassian
Connector settings and clicking "Test Connection". This succeeds, and
subsequently operations can be conducted as normal.
