Official removal of comment object data in JIRA issue webhooks

Atlassian Update – 9 January 2018

Hi everyone,

I'd like to inform you that we will start introducing this change from 22 January 2018.

As a consequence, all jira:issue_* webhooks will no longer contain comment-related data and also jira:issue_updated webhook will be not sent for comment-related events.

We've recently made two improvements to comment_* webhooks:

We believe that with these enhancements, comment webhooks are a viable replacement to comment data in issue webhooks, and we highly recommend that you switch your apps to rely on comment webhooks before this change takes in effect.

Hi ,

I am not sure what kind of JIRA -> Slack integration you are using, but this looks the same as:

Can you kindly review above bug ticket and confirm whether or not this is the case (in case it is not please provide as many details as possible)?

We have jira cloud service desk - slack integration. Since a recent jira upgrade, comments have stopped appearing on the slack channel, whereas other transitions do appear. I am not very familiar with webhooks, so I am having a hard time following this conversation. Is my issue related to this thread? Is there an easy solution?

, as per my comment in ACJIRA-1152 there is no detailed documentation of the webhook payload for any of Jira webhooks.
