Some display names of Connect add-on users are incorrect
For some add-on installations, the Connect add-on user's display name is not set correctly to the name field from the add-on descriptor. Patterns of incorrect display names include:

Hi, any news on that? I happen to have an app on MPAC that I made an empty prototype of 2 years ago. It only had a name and an empty page back then. And the name was stupid. And now the app is public and paid and everything, but because of that stupid name 2 years ago, my users are stuck with ridiculous history entries for their issues. Like “Issue was created by Pupa”. I would very much love for some Atlassian person to perform a manual intervention in the user database for this, if no other methods are possible. How about that? Could I perhaps bribe you with beer?
Is there any update? We also changed the name of our app, but now seem to be stuck with the old one…
Could somebody from Atlassian manually do the change?
That’s unfortunate then. I have a ticket open with Atlassian in the hope that it could be manually changed by someone on the Marketplace/Developer team, do you think that’s likely to be possible?
Otherwise, I see our only option is to re-submit the app to the Marketplace with a new key, so it can register as a new user, then migrate our existing customers to the new app.
This seems like a massive overhead to fix what should be a simple change but, unless there’s another way, I don’t think we have a choice.
I’m afraid there is no update on this, nor are there any workarounds.
Hi Einar, are there any updates on this issue?
It’s a significant problem for our production app, as it adds comments for the user, but instead of the friendly name “External Share for Jira” the display name of the app user is “Share this Issue [https://6fb0d4ca.ngrok.io]”
Are there any workarounds for this bug?
